Camp, Respite and Recreation

Easterseals Colorado offers a variety of fun, healthy programs for children to relax, connect, and engage in activities necessary to living the best life possible.

Overview

Our Camp, Respite, and Recreation programs provide enriching, inclusive experiences that empower individuals of all ages living with disabilities to explore, connect, and thrive. From our fully accessible camps nestled in the Rockies to community-based respite and recreation opportunities, we offer safe, supportive spaces where participants can build independence, develop lifelong friendships, and enjoy the freedom of play. Whether for a weekend getaway, a summer adventure, or much-needed caregiver respite, our programs celebrate ability and create lasting memories for individuals and families alike.

Our Programs

    New Adventures

    New Adventures is an inclusive and safe respite program that gives Southern Colorado children and teens with disabilities ages 6 -18 the opportunity to explore, while providing parents and caregivers with a much-needed break from caregiving duties.

    Respite Weekends

    During the non-summer season, RMV provides R&R weekends. Campers come to Rocky Mountain Village to get away and relax, giving their families a short break from caregiving.

    Rocky Mountain Village Camp

    Easterseals Colorado's Rocky Mountain Village Camp in Empire, Colorado, is regarded as one of the top Easterseals camps in the country. RMV is fully accessible and used by more than 1,200 children and adults living with disabilities throughout the year.

    Saturday Discovery Club

    Participants spend time with their peers enjoying activities such as art, games, music, and more while being cared for by nursing students. Our staff of trained professionals is able to take care of children and teens with significant needs, including feeding, restroom assistance, and administration of medication. While participants are attending Discovery Club, their caregivers receive a break from providing care.

    A summer day camp where children are able to overcome daily challenges, meet new expectations and have FUN!
