Donate an outright gift of cash - Cash contributions immediately benefit Easter Seals and provide tax benefits to donors who itemize deductions.  If you designate your gift to camp you will receive an additional 50% state childcare tax credit because the camp is a licensed childcare facility. These state tax credits are over and above the regular federal tax credit you are allowed.

Donate a gift of stock - Stocks or other investments that have grown in value and that you have held for more than one year can become a substantial gift made at a low net cost to you.  You receive a charitable deduction and you avoid all federal capital gains tax that would otherwise be due on a sale of the assets.  If you own securities worth less now than when you purchased them, sell them and contribute the proceeds.  Then you can take a capital loss on your tax return, (subject to certain limitations), and you can also take a charitable deduction for the gift of the proceeds.

Make an endowed gift - Endowed gifts are those that Easter Seals holds in trust, in perpetuity.  Funds are invested and part of the average annual investment income supports the programs specified by the donor.

Make a bequest
- Bequests are important legacies to provide for the future of Easter Seals.  In your will, you may leave a specific dollar amount, a percentage of an estate or the residual of an estate following the provision for family members.

Consider a gift of real estate - Gifts of property can be a convenient way to make a sizable gift to Easter Seals.

Charitable remainder trust
- A charitable remainder trust involves setting up a trust that, at the end of its term, distributes all or part of the principal to Easter Seals.  The donor or beneficiary receives income for the term of the trust, avoids immediate capital gains on appreciated long-term assets transferred into the trust, and can claim a charitable income tax deduction computed according to the terms.

Charitable gift annuity
- A charitable gift annuity pays the donor a fixed income for life, a portion of which is non-taxable.  Donors receive full credit of the fair market value of the gift along with a charitable deduction.

Tributes and Memorials - Honor someone special while ensuring the continuance of vital programs and services that many people in our communities need.

Matching Gifts - Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations -- sometimes matching 100, 200, even 300 percent of your contribution!  If your employer offers a matching gift program, remember to follow your organizations matching gift process.

Planned Giving - Planned giving involves integrating a donor's charitable gift into his or her overall financial, tax, and estate planning objectives so as to maximize benefits to both the donor and Easter Seals Colorado.  Contact Easter Seals for more information.

Donate your car - Donate your car, truck or boat and drive off with a tax deduction while helping Easter Seals Colorado. Call for information 303-233-1666 x 234 or contact us.

Donate your cell phone - Donate your old cell phones at our Easter Seals office to help individuals with disabilities.  The phones will be recycled and Easter Seals Colorado will receive a portion of the donation, contact us.
