Respite Camp Dates and Descriptions for

Fall 2009-Spring 2010

 October 1-4: TWT First Steps Camp

Kids and their families new to ACC Technology.  Run in conjunction with the Children’s Hospital.  Parents will spend the weekend working with Tracy Kovach learning about their child’s device and resources they can access while children spend the weekend doing fun activities like arts and crafts, fishing, hiking, and other camp activities with ESC staff.  Contact Tracy Kovach for information: (303) 861-6024 

October 17-18: Downtown Overnight  ($400)

Check- in at 9am on Saturday, Pick Up at 2pm on Sunday

Spend the evening with us downtown!  We will meet at the Easter Seals Colorado Steve Vestal Center in Lakewood, and spend the afternoon doing cultural events in downtown Denver.  The exact events have not been determined but will most likely include a trip to museums and cultural events.  We will also be eating out in Denver.  This respite will include accommodations in the heart of the city, at a downtown hotel.  Applicants for this respite must be at least 16 years old. 

November 7-8: Autism Family Overnight

Check-in at 9am, on Saturday

Children with ASD, PDD-NOS, and Asbergers and their families.  Parents will spend the weekend with Lynn Robinson and staff from the Autism Society of Colorado learning about respite opportunities, resources, and other information about ASD.  Children will be spending the weekend with ESC staff doing fun camp activities like arts and crafts, music, and many other activities.Contact Nancy Hanson: (303) 233-1666 ext 237 to register.

 November 20-21: Discovery Club Overnight

This weekend will be an opportunity for kids who attend the Discovery Club program to come to camp  and learn more about what a typical week at camp entails. 

December 18-20: Traditional R&R Weekend at Camp ($325)

Check-in starts at 5:30 on Friday, Check Out between 11 and 12 on Sunday

This Traditional Camp Respite will include camp activities like arts and crafts, ice fishing, music and drama, and all camp activities.  We will be spending an afternoon swimming at the Clear Creek Recreation Center!  Join us for a fun themed weekend, and experience camp in the snow! 

January 15-17: Camp Ski Weekend at NSCD ($400)

Check-in starts at 5:30 on Friday, Check Out between 11 and 12 on Sunday

This ski respite will include a full day of skiing with the National Sports Center for the Disabled at Winter Park.  Take lessons from expert skiers with specialized experience for people with disabilities.  The weekend will also include some typical camp activities, and more fun filled snow adventures!  Sit-skis are limited so sign up early! Snowboarding is also available! 

February 26th: Guys Night Out ($75)

Check-In at the Steve Vestal Center at 4pm then out to dinner, and a Sporting Event (Basketball or something depending on the Season).  Pick up will depend on the projected end time of the event. 

March 5-7: Girls Only Slumber Party Weekend ($325)

Check-in starts at 5:30 on Friday, Check Out between 11 and 12 on Sunday

No Boys Allowed!  Spend the weekend with the female staff of RMV, and experience girls’ only activities!  This weekend will be filled with tons of girls’ only themed activities, girly movies, crafts, and games will abound!
