The CRC helps connect family caregivers with respite resources and information. The CRC supports family caregivers caring for loved ones of any age and with any extensive care needs.

• What Is Respite Care? Respite care is usually defined as temporary relief for family caregivers from the ongoing responsibility of caring for an individual of any age with special needs.
• Choose a Respite Provider - It is essential to vet providers and ask questions to determine that it is the right fit for the person receiving care and for the family caregiver's peace of mind.
• Paying For Respite - Most respite providers typically charge an hourly rate or a flat rate. There are a variety of government, community, nonprofit and individual funding streams available to pay for respite services.
• Compensation for Caregiving - Many family caregivers may have the opportunity to be reimbursed or paid for some of their time spent caregiving. Such opportunities may benefit the primary caregivers and the family unit.
