Easterseals Colorado (ESC) is pleased to announce that on Saturday, November 9, 2024, it will honor Holland & Hart and Iron Pony Express with the Jake Jabs Community Impact Award at its Annual Gala, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. The award — named in honor of American Furniture Warehouse founder Jake Jabs — recognizes individuals and organizations who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents, and dedication. The honorees have served as role models in demonstrating compassion, and service, and strive to change the way the world views and defines disability.
Partners Michael Carrigan and Arthur Hundhausen will accept the award on behalf of Holland & Hart. The firm’s founders instilled the value that lawyers have a special obligation to give their skills, time, and talents to local communities and organizations through pro bono and public service activities.
Michael and Arthur embody this commitment to give back by dedicating time working with ECS leaders and providing free legal services (worth tens of thousands of dollars) to support ESC’s mission. Michael and Arthur have advised ESC on a wide range of issues including governance, contracts, transactions, non-profit compliance and employment practices.
Accepting the Award on behalf of Iron Pony Express will be the officers of its membership: Rikk Nichol, Amanda Hardin, Brian Howell, Health and Catherine Howell, and Ross Howell. Iron Pony Express is a group of motorcycle enthusiasts that has been raising money for Easterseals Colorado's Rocky Mountain Village Camp in Empire, CO since 1993.
The Club has worked within their communities to bring awareness through partnerships with local businesses, schools, and public offices. Their fundraising efforts provide scholarships for children and adults living with disabilities to attend a week of summer camp. The dedication of all its members exemplifies the heart and passion Easterseals Colorado is grateful to have.
"They truly embody the same commitment and passion that Jake Jabs has demonstrated over his many years of involvement to Easterseals Colorado," said Roman Krafczyk, President and CEO of Easterseals Colorado.
